The role

Ampla is hiring a Lighting Technical Director for a leading visual effects studio in San Francisco. You will light and render CG shots to match live-action plates, working with supervisors and look-dev teams on feature film and episodic work at the highest level.

What you'll do

• Light, shade, and render CG shots to final quality
• Match CG elements to plate photography across sequences
• Optimize scenes for render efficiency and shot consistency
• Collaborate with comp, look dev, and supervision through dailies

What you bring

• 3+ years as a lighting TD or lighter in feature film VFX
• Strong Katana, Houdini, or Maya plus renderer experience (RenderMan, Arnold)
• A reel of photoreal lighting work
• Based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area
